About St. John’s Congregation

Our Confession

We believe at St. John’s that the Bible is God’s inspired Word, free from errors and contradictions. We believe that God has revealed in that Word his plan to rescue all people from the deadly effects of sin. This is his Gospel, his Good News: In love our God sent his one and only Son to live a perfect life for us, to die on the cross to make the perfect payment for our sins, and to rise from the grave as the proof that our rescue is complete, and the victory over sin and death has been won.

We believe that this is a message every person needs to hear and believe, so that all may receive the blessings our Savior has won for us. We believe, as the Bible teaches, that whoever believes in God’s Savior Jesus will receive eternal life.

Our Congregation

St. John’s is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). The WELS is the third largest Lutheran Church body in the United States. Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the WELS has churches in most parts of the United States and supports world mission efforts around the globe. The WELS also supports 4 schools for the training of future pastors and teachers for the work of Gospel ministry. Wisconsin Synod Lutherans strive to faithfully teach the truths of God’s inspired Word, not wanting to add to, subtract from, or change God’s precious Word and promises.

Church Activities

St. John’s offers a variety of activities centered on God’s Word for all age groups. For children we have our weekly Sunday School program that teaches children all of the significant Bible Stories in both the Old Testament and New Testament. We also have a Vacation Bible School where children spend one day during the summer growing in their understanding of God’s Word and at the same time enjoying activities, crafts and music in a Christ-centered atmosphere. A church is first and foremost a place where God’s people can grow in their understanding of his great love for us. Our worship services on Sundays and special festivals gives that opportunity to all our members, as do the various Bible study classes offered throughtout the year. In addition, we regularly offer a Bible Information Class, which gives anyone interested in growing in godly faith and knowledge a broad understanding of the precious truths God teaches in his Word. We also offer both service and fellowship opportunities so that the members of St. John’s may support and encourage one another in Christian love.
